The PORTRAIT project is honored to have participated in the “Focus on TOP” symposium (Udine, March 17 – 18, 2025), a premier event dedicated to advancing precision medicine in breast cancer. Held over two days, this dynamic gathering brought together leading experts, researchers, and clinicians to discuss cutting-edge innovations in breast cancer management. (here the program)
With a strong emphasis on collaboration and interdisciplinary approaches, the symposium highlighted the evolving landscape of targeted therapies, biomarker development—including circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA)—as well as next-generation sequencing and multi-omics. These advancements are paving the way for more personalized, effective treatment strategies for breast cancer patients.
A key highlight of the symposium was the PORTRAIT Workshop, an interactive session designed to engage participants in tackling critical challenges in translating oncology research into clinical practice. By focusing on real-world applications, the workshop provided a platform for in-depth discussions on how innovative technologies can enhance treatment decision-making for breast cancer patients, particularly those undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
On the second day, the Networking Lunch served as an extension of the workshop, fostering engaging discussions among a diverse group of experts. Structured thematic tables led by experienced mentors encouraged participants to explore practical applications of translational research in precision oncology. These interactions not only sparked new ideas but also reinforced the importance of collaborative efforts in driving meaningful advancements in cancer treatment.
The participation of the PORTRAIT project in this symposium was made possible thanks to the dedication and expertise of our esteemed partners:
